Location:
El Segundo, CA | Onsite | 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension) About the Role Join Indotronix as a key Space Communications or Satellite Payload Systems Engineer Level 5 and help shape the future of next-generation satellite payload architectures. Work onsite in El Segundo, CA, where you will lead the design, analysis, and integration of advanced RF, digital, and optical communications solutions for space-based platforms. This is a high-impact role with potential for contract extension and direct involvement in mission-critical projects. Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cutting-edge RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems and payload architectures.
  • Lead and support technical trade studies, proposal generation, and interface definition.
  • Define, verify, and decompose unit, subsystem, and system-level requirements for space communication solutions.
  • Perform advanced system-level CONOPS development, functional analysis, RF/optical performance analysis, and simulations.
  • Conduct link analysis, signal distortion, capacity, reliability, and performance assessments.
  • Develop and utilize analysis tools with MATLAB and object-oriented platforms.
  • Oversee the design, build, and validation of satellite RF/digital payload units by coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Prepare and execute system test procedures, troubleshoot issues, and verify performance.
  • Drive design reviews, requirements sell-off, and integration activities to ensure mission success. Required Skills and Experience
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in communications subsystems or payload unit design, analysis, development, or verification.
  • Proficiency in payload system performance analysis and simulation.
  • Experience with MATLAB, object-oriented tools, and RF communication concepts. Preferred Skills
  • 14+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and expertise.
  • Background in satellite or space-based payloads.
  • Proven experience with terrestrial or satellite RF/digital communications systems and antenna theory.
  • Advanced knowledge of requirements definition/verification and RF analyses (G/T, EIRP, gain-loss).
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink and C++. Benefits
