Job Summary The Systems Engineer's role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all hardware, software, and associated operating systems. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. The Systems Engineer will partner with business users to plan, coordinate, deploy, and optimize business applications, supporting project success through effective collaboration, communication, and technical leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Essential Duties/Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and scale DAP Health's IT Infrastructure to meet enterprise needs in a flexible, redundant, performant, and secure manner Understand application and system requirements and allocate appropriate resources for deployment Deploy, operate, and maintain virtualization technologies and server operating systems, including configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting Design, optimize, and support system workflows with interdepartmental collaboration Perform maintenance functions for existing platforms as needed Document systems, network, storage infrastructure, and procedures for both new and existing setups Collaborate with third-party contractors to complete IT-related projects Develop training and informative documents regarding IT-specific procedures Develop, deploy, and maintain DAP Health's intranet (SharePoint) Ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems by collaborating with network staff to fulfill business objectives and processes Work with stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues Provide technology advice that balances functionality, costs, and risks Manage a mix of long-term projects, short-term service requests, and daily emergencies with flexibility and effective delegation Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems using project management best practices Conduct research on software and systems products to support recommendations and purchasing efforts Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improvement Design and perform system backup procedures and other recovery processes in line with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies Integrate servers and associated software (e.g., database, e-mail, print, backup) into enterprise systems Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications Collaborate effectively with other departments to work toward shared goals and a common vision Ensure adherence to department policies and procedures and organization-wide implementation processes Proactively reduce costs by increasing efficiency and finding cost-effective solutions Implement and manage security measures to protect data, software, and hardware Coordinate with IT support teams to provide second and third-level support for system issues Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to improve system efficiency and reduce manual tasks Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Working technical knowledge of current software protocols and Internet standards Experience with system administration and installation Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms Experience with cloud services Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures Experience with virtualization technologies Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or 5+years of experience in an information technology administrative role Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified, or equivalent Working Conditions/Physical Requirements This position is on-site at a DAP Health location with hybrid ability This job operates in an office setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talking Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds Requires current and valid driver's license and current personal auto insurance Able to travel to DAP Health locations throughout San Diego and Riverside CountiesBenefits
