What to Expect Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

This team builds critical tools and infrastructure that enable Tesla to develop software with precision and agility. Our mission is to enhance productivity, minimize the potential for human error, and optimize development processes. The team's core technology is an infrastructure that describes how our complex control systems communicate, and augments the engineering process with analysis, visualization, and code generation tools. As a member of this team, you will shape the landscape for how Tesla designs future systems. This is a software development role that requires someone who likes to think about the big picture. You will work with component owners across vehicle, robot, and energy organizations to develop new technologies that act as an engineering force multiplier.
