Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer Overview We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain operational components in private on-prem clouds such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V
Analyze processes to create and enhance operational workflows
Be able to work closely with operational teams to build /improve cloud infrastructure
Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and trending operational tools in the cloud
Respond to alerts; troubleshoot and resolve problems
Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges
Perform automating using infrastructure as a code
Automate self-provisioning of resources and services for a Private Cloud Environment
Configure and deploy containerized micro-service components
Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis
Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support
Requirements 2+ years of systems engineering experience
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows or Linux environments
Experience working in private on-prem cloud environments running VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
Ability to create, edit, and maintain scripting code from Bash, Powershell, Python, and Javascript for infrastructure configuration and building
Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible
Understanding of build/automation systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform and Packer
Ability to automate workflows via scripting for self service
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field
Recommended Qualifications Work experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
Ability to share your expertise through documentation
Experience working with APIs (REST, SOAP)
Familiarity with ServiceNow
