This role focuses on designing, testing, and implementing applications that collect, monitor, and control data across a variety of test environments. The ideal candidate will contribute to software development, instrument integration, networking solutions, troubleshooting, and modernization efforts, including rebuilding legacy systems using current-generation software and hardware technologies. Core Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for software development. Design, develop, test, and implement data acquisition and control system applications for testing environments. Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality and compliance with requirements. Design and implement networking solutions that enable real-time data sharing and communication between multiple controllers. Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues during development, testing, and deployment. Document software designs, build processes, installation procedures, and user documentation. Reverse-engineer existing software on legacy systems and rebuild solutions using modern software and hardware platforms. Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on data acquisition and test or process control systems. Experience with PLC programming, including Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff PLCs. Strong programming skills in LabVIEW or equivalent software development environments. Experience integrating test instruments into control systems, including power analyzers, power supplies, pressure scanners, temperature scanners, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and actuators. Understanding of networking concepts and experience with data-sharing protocols for multiple real-time controllers. Ability to prototype and execute tests, including experimental setup, hardware configuration, and software implementation. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical processes. Preferred Skills or Experience Experience with MATLAB/Simulink. Experience with C/C++. Experience with Python. Experience with LabWindows/CVI. Familiarity with NI SystemLink, TestStand, or VeriStand. Experience with version control tools such as Bitbucket, Git, or SVN, and requirements tracking systems. Mechatronics work experience.
