What You Will Do:
Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer, with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, to support next generation propulsion programs. The candidate will be responsible for the development of system models for one or more military engine programs. Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney's digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to MBSE process development. This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for military propulsion programs. Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.
Lead the development of Systems Engineering Models as a subject matter expert in order to perform systems engineering tasks including:
Requirements analysis, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning, trade studies, system integration
Coordinate with leadership, team members, and other teams in a highly matrixed organization
Participate in customer and/or internal gate reviews throughout the product lifecycle
Coordinate model inputs and enforce engineering best practices and compliance with EDSI standard work
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
Experience in systems engineering roles, or familiarity with systems engineering methods
Experience using a SysML tool, such as IBM Rhapsody ®, Cameo/Magic Draw ®, or equivalent
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
Proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler or Cameo Enterprise Architect
Knowledge of MBSE best practices
Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP)
OMG SysML Certification
Experience leading small engineering teams
Proficiency with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
Experience writing proposals or generating basis of estimates
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office
