WHAT WE'RE DOING
At Sikorsky, we have been helping the future arrive since 1923. We solve the great problems of our times and innovative technologies that define eras. While no one knows whats going to change the world next, our people are already working on it.THE WORK
The Chief Systems Architect (CSA) is responsible for creating the systems architecture to be implemented across all programs at Sikorsky. The CSA is responsible for establishing design consistency across families of products, building the plan to achieve those design goals, and supervising the execution of the plan. Due to the nature of the role and our products, the CSA will have experience with Platform Systems Integration and Product Line Engineering to foster cross-enterprise collaboration and create opportunities for new technology insertion. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to link systems architecture and the digital thread to drive systems thinking into our programs and products. The CSA is a functional role reporting to the Director of the Model Based Systems Architecture (MBSA) organization, and is the key focal point for functional, logical, and physical architecture decisions across the Sikorsky portfolio of products. The CSA will drive technology and tool insertion to ensure commonality across programs and maximize reuse where applicable. The CSA must establish and leverage relationships with the Digital Transformation (Dx), 1LMX, and Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts to optimize program execution through improved process, tooling, and automation. The CSA is also responsible for shaping program processes and standards related to implementing Open Systems Standards, such as MOSA. Due to the increasing emphasis on model-based systems engineering (MBSE) required by our customers and Lockheed Martin strategy, the ideal candidate will have experience implementing MBSE for complex systems using Cameo or an equivalent modeling tool. To lead the development and maintenance of the approved baseline architecture, the CSA is responsible for leading teams of architects and engineers across multiple product market segments to accomplish the following:- Functional and logical architecture development
- System behavior definition based on operational use cases and mission scenarios
- Trade studies at all product levels
- Design changes when analyses show margins are not met
- Ensure the design satisfies the requirements
- Track technical performance measures Whether at the program or strategic level, the CSA is responsible to provide guidance and mentoring to engineering staff on system architecture, SE, and MBE to develop the next generation of leaders.
