Role Overview:
The Director, Domain Architecture -Enterprise Platform is a horizontal enterprise architecture leader who serves as the architectural bridge between the enterprise Platform organization and Product Engineering, ensuring the company's platform and shared services ecosystem evolves in step with the needs of the product domains that consume it. This is a strategic architecture leadership role. It does not function as an embedded delivery Solution Architect and it does not direct the Platform organization's internal architecture or engineering decisions. 3 months contract to hire, sponsorship not available 4 days onsite in
Miami Responsibilities:
Define and maintain the multi-year target-state architecture for the Enterprise Platform domain in partnership with Platform engineering leadership, reflecting both platform strategy and product domain demand. Serve as the primary architectural liaison between the Platform organization and Product Engineering domains - the single point of connection for platform standards and shared technical service patterns. Represent product engineering needs into platform planning, and represent platform constraints, capabilities, and roadmaps back to engineering teams in consumable, actionable terms. Partner with engineering, security, operations, and architecture leadership to align shared platform priorities with enterprise outcomes. Endorses architectural standards and adjudicates deviations within the Enterprise Platform domain, co-authored with platform teams. Reviews major cross-domain architecture decisions with material platform implications and brokers alignment between platform and engineering stakeholders. Recommends modernization and investment priorities for shared platform capabilities, informed by consuming-domain demand.
Required experience:
10-12+ years of progressive architecture experience in complex, distributed enterprise environments. Significant experience in enterprise platform architecture, cloud foundations, and shared engineering services. Deep knowledge of infrastructure and platform patterns, including runtime platforms, observability, identity integration, security controls, and DevSecOps enablement. Experience aligning enterprise standards and architecture guardrails across multiple product domains and a central platform organization.
