Job Description
Systems EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable, secure infrastructure that supports clinical and senior-living applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong systems engineering fundamentals with hands-on Linux administration to manage on-premises and cloud environments, implement automation, and support integrations with EMR/EHR and data platforms. This role partners closely with development, data, and operations teams to deliver scalable, compliant systems that meet the needs of healthcare and senior-living customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy and maintain Linux-based systems (CentOS, Ubuntu) and supporting infrastructure for production and development environments.
Implement and manage containerization and orchestration solutions (Docker) to support scalable application delivery.
Create, maintain, and improve configuration management and automation using Ansible, Puppet, or equivalent tools.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling using Python; contribute to TypeScript or Rust components when required.
Manage cloud infrastructure and services in AWS, including IaC, networking, security groups, and cost-conscious architecture.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to enable frequent, reliable deployments and rollback procedures.
Monitor system performance and availability, implement alerting and observability, and lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
Work with data engineering teams to support Snowflake, EMR/ EHR integrations, OMNI interfaces, and other healthcare data flows.
Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers to ensure infrastructure supports application requirements, security, and compliance (HIPAA and other relevant regulations).Document system architecture, runbooks, change procedures, and participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems.
Experience with configuration management/automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
Background in Senior Living or Healthcare technology, with understanding of compliance and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA) is a bonus.

QualificationsRequired:
Proven experience in Systems Engineering with strong Linux administration skills (CentOS, Ubuntu).Hands-on experience with Docker and container-based workflows.Experience with configuration management/automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
Required:
Proficiency in scripting with Python (or other languages); familiarity with TypeScript or Rust is a plus.Required:
Practical experience with AWS and core DevOps/infrastructure practices (CI/CD, IaC, monitoring).Experience with Snowflake, EMR/EHR systems, and OMNI interfaces or similar healthcare integrations is a bonus but not required.Background in Senior Living or Healthcare technology, with understanding of compliance and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA) is a bonus.
Preferred:
Familiarity with frontend engineering concerns and how they impact infrastructure and deployment.Preferred:
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills; experience participating in on-call rotations.Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.Certifications:
