We are seeking a Systems Engineering Project Manager to join our Operations team in Atlanta GA. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the crucial technical liaison, ensuring seamless communication and successful project execution between our Systems Application Engineers (AE), Order Engineers (OE), and Third-Party Manufacturing (3PM) Partners.
Position Overview:
The Systems Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for translating complex technical requirements and product specifications from our AE & OE teams into actionable plans for our 3PM operations teams. This role requires a strong understanding of UL electrical products, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to proactively resolve technical challenges to ensure customer satisfaction and project success. You'll make a difference with the following duties:
Technical Clarification & Liaison:
Act as the primary technical point of contact for our 3PM partners, working with AE, OE, and Project Management Organization (PMO) regarding UL electrical products, including switchboards and circuit breakers. Ensure technical requirements and specifications are provided to our 3PM partners via clear, concise documentation and instructions for engineering and manufacturing. Provide technical support and expertise during the pre-sales, order fulfillment, and post-delivery phases. Facilitate technical discussions and workshops to resolve ambiguities and ensure alignment across all collaborators.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
Proactively identify and address potential technical issues or roadblocks in project execution. Collaborate with engineering to develop solutions for non-standard requests or complex technical challenges. Support operations in troubleshooting production issues related to product design or customer specifications. Accurately communicate and manage production related issues resulting from the provided designs to drive and implement corrective actions from engineering.
Product Expertise & Configuration:
Maintain a deep understanding of Siemens' UL electrical product portfolio, including their applications, capabilities, and limitations. Use the COMPAS configuration tool for technical Bill of Material (BOM) extraction and validation. Leverage SAP for order management, project status, and BOM revision updates.
Documentation & Standards:
Ensure all technical documentation, specifications, and communications adhere to Siemens' standards and UL requirements. Contribute to the development of standard processes for technical communication and project handoffs.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve technical clarity, and enhance overall project efficiency. Provide feedback to engineering and product management based on customer and operational insights. You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience with the following: Application engineering, technical support, product management, or a similar role within the electrical industry. Demonstrated experience with UL electrical products, specifically switchboards and circuit breakers. Proficiency with the COMPAS configuration tool is highly preferred; strong interest in learning new technical software is required. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for order and material management. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mentality with proven ability to work effectively across multi-functional and cross-cultural teams. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
