Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a self-motivated and experienced Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator to be an on-site engineering representative at an operational Navy customer facility located at Camp H. M. Smith Marine Corp Base, HI. The selected candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks for the Targeting and Navigation Toolset (TNT) program and Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program which supports the Tomahawk Mission Planning Center (TMPC).
Primary responsibilities are in the areas of Systems Administration, Cybersecurity/Information Assurance, and Site Support/Help Desk Support. The position may require travel to other user, customer, and BAE Systems and co-developing contractor sites. The position may also require work outside normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays in support of customer exercises and/or real world crisis situations.
Responsibilities include:
Administering and maintaining several suites of PC clients running Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Splunk, Microsoft Office, TMPC software and other 3rd party
COTS/GOTS
Administering and maintaining servers running Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, RHEL, TMPC software and other 3rd party
COTS/GOTS
running in a virtualized environment
Administering and maintaining other network hardware and network storage devices
Managing warranty/inventory/service activity for above assets
Installing and configuring hardware (client PCs, servers, network storage devices, networks)
Installing and configuring Microsoft/Windows operating systems, RHEL, TNT/TMPC program software, as well as 3rd party
COTS/GOTS
Tracking and installing periodic software security updates and patches
Providing help desk support to on-site Navy DoD civilians and military personnel regarding use of
TNT/TMPC
enterprise computing environment
Interfacing with external users and other on-site contractors regarding
TNT/TMPC
enterprise computing environment
Providing clear and concise status reporting in support of programmatic documentation requirements
Updating and maintaining system installation procedures and system administration documentation for customer facility
Suggesting and making changes to improve system configurations, installation processes, system performance
Requirements
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Bachelor's Degree and 4 to 6+ years of work experience or equivalent experience
Security+ Certification (minimum)
Self-starter, must be flexible and able to work effectively with limited supervision
Strong Microsoft Client and Server OS installation and administration experience
Experience with RHEL OS, to include system administration and IA configuration and maintenance
Experience with Domain Controllers, to include account configuration and maintenance, DNS configuration and GPO's (Group Policy Objects) knowledge
Experience with supporting classified networks
Experience with cybersecurity/information assurance processes and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft/Windows and RHEL system security and patch management
Good problem solving skills and experience in troubleshooting Microsoft/Windows and RHEL operating system administration
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with Navy customer (DoD civilians and military personnel) and other Navy contractors
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with software developers and systems engineers
Familiarity with MS Office products: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarization with Risk Management Framework (RMF) to include Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) application, as well as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and NESSUS scanning
Experience with and/or working knowledge of the following documentation:
NISPOM, ODAA
Technical Guide, DSS Assessments and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM)
Knowledge and skills to support integrating TNT, CPS, and TMPC systems with other external interfaces (GCCS, JTT, MIDB/MARS, NGA Libraries, etc.) in support of the Navy customer facility
Experience with and/or working knowledge of various reconnaissance collection systems, imagery products and photogrammetric theory/techniques
Knowledge of database systems
Familiarization with the installation and administration of shared network storage devices
Familiarization with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
Strong understanding of computer hardware and hardware troubleshooting experience
Strong understanding of shared network storage systems and networking
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range:
$97008 - $164914
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
