Infrastructure Architect#26-17075 $47.86-$52.86 per hour Buffalo Grove, IL Onsite Job Description Our Client, an IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for an Infrastructure Architect for their Buffalo Grove, IL/Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
Lead assessment and design of standalone infrastructure independent of client, ensuring scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency Drive end-to-end infrastructure migration strategy including iSeries (IBM i), AIX systems, and client-hosted applications Provide architectural guidance for hybrid infrastructure including legacy systems, on-prem X86, and Linux environments Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles for high availability, observability, and automation Design network architecture with focus on performance optimization and latency reduction Collaborate with stakeholders on migration roadmap, risks, and execution planning Evaluate cloud and co-location strategies for legacy modernization Provide expert recommendations for future-state architecture decisions
Requirements:
12+ years of experience in Infrastructure Architecture / SRE / Platform Engineering Strong expertise in IBM iSeries (AS/400) and AIX systems Experience in large-scale infrastructure migration and transformation programs Experience with lift-and-shift migrations to cloud or data centers Exposure to X86 and Linux environments Knowledge of public cloud (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable) Strong understanding of SRE practices and networking fundamentals Experience in client / Omnicare environments Hands-on with automation tools like Terraform or Ansible Experience in hybrid cloud and data center exit programs Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements Strong stakeholder and executive communication skills Ability to drive decisions in complex environments Proven leadership in large transformation programs Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking
