AWS Cloud Engineer (Preffered Local state candidate)
Job Description
Required Qualifications & Experience Experience:
6+ years of hands-on experience in cloud systems engineering, with at least 4+ years dedicated to enterprise AWS infrastructure.
Incident Ownership:
2+ years of demonstrable experience participating in or leading technical incident response bridges for high-severity cloud outages.
AWS Core Mastery:
Deep hands-on proficiency in VPC design (subnets, route tables, peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), IAM policies, EC2/ALB architectures, and microservices/containers (EKS/ECS). Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced expertise in Terraform (modular architectures, state management) or AWS CloudFormation/CDK.
Scripting & Automation:
Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or Go for automation, telemetry collection, and incident remediation.
Tooling:
Strong background using PagerDuty/Opsgenie, Jira/ServiceNow ITSM, and enterprise observability platforms (CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk).
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written technical communication skills; capable of producing crisp executive-level incident summaries and technical deep-dive RCAs.
Preferred Qualifications AWS Certifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
Methodology:
Practical experience operating within ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change Management) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles (SLOs/SLIs).
Security:
Prior experience managing regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or
ISO 27001
).
