Mainframe Architect

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Test Environment Architect with strong expertise in Mainframe technologies and Distributed systems . This role requires a highly skilled professional who can lead test environment management initiatives, support complex batch processes, and provide technical leadership across enterprise-level programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mainframe development/support, deep understanding of test environment lifecycle management, and excellent stakeholder communication skills.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, implement, and manage Test Environment Management (TEM) processes, including provisioning, maintenance, and support. Provide technical leadership as a Solution Architect across projects and programs. Support and troubleshoot mainframe batch applications , ensuring smooth operations and issue resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage test data services and environment availability. Lead environment planning for large-scale integration programs , including mergers and acquisitions. Ensure adherence to

ITIL/ITSM

processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management. Drive continuous improvement in environment stability, performance, and automation. Act as a customer-facing technical expert , ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Required Technical Skills :

Strong hands-on experience with Mainframe technologies :

COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2.

Experience with scheduling and automation tools: REXX, Endevor, OPC Scheduler, Autosys, Maestro. Solid understanding of batch processing and troubleshooting. Experience with both Mainframe and Distributed environments.

Preferred Qualifications :

Proven experience in Test Environment Management (TEM). Exposure to cloud migration projects (On-premise to Cloud). Experience in system integration projects , especially post mergers/acquisitions. Strong understanding of current technology trends and enterprise architecture. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Pay:

$65.00 - $70.00 per hour
