Job Description

Position Type Contractor Job Description Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Platform Architect to provide owner-side architecture leadership across multiple enterprise ServiceNow initiatives. The role will help scale an existing architecture team, establish consistent platform direction, translate business priorities into secure and supportable designs, review partner deliverables, resolve cross-project dependencies, and strengthen internal architecture capability. The engagement is contract consulting/staff augmentation, with an expected start as soon as practical in Q4 2026 and an initial duration of at least six months. Indianapolis hybrid is preferred, approximately two to three days per week onsite; exceptional non-Indianapolis candidates may be considered for the right long-term fit.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted architecture advisor to ServiceNow leadership and project sponsors. Define and maintain standards for ServiceNow configuration, customization, integrations, data, security, environments, and release management. Translate business requirements into platform and integration designs. Review and challenge implementation-partner architecture, solution designs, configuration decisions, integration approaches, and technical debt. Ensure designs align with ServiceNow best practices and enterprise architecture, security, privacy, compliance, and operational requirements. Establish integration patterns using
REST/SOAP
APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, identity services, data exchanges, notifications, and external platforms as appropriate. Evaluate data models, roles, access control lists, user experience, service structures, catalog design, case structures, and reporting requirements. Identify cross-project dependencies across employee experience, customer service, identity, knowledge, analytics, and shared platform capabilities. Participate in architecture review boards, design reviews, release planning, risk reviews, and technical governance forums. Review test strategies, migration plans, cutover plans, operational handoffs, and production-readiness criteria. Create reusable patterns, reference designs, standards, and documentation, and mentor internal architects, engineers, and product teams.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Eight or more years of experience designing and delivering enterprise ServiceNow solutions. Strong experience with ServiceNow platform architecture, application design, integrations, security, data, environments, and release management. Strong experience in at least one core ServiceNow domain such as ITSM, CMDB/CSDM, ITOM, ITAM, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, integrations, or platform governance; experience across multiple domains is preferred. Demonstrated ability to apply established ServiceNow architecture patterns to newer business areas such as HRSD, CSM, employee experience, or conversational service. Experience reviewing or governing work delivered by implementation partners or managed service providers. Strong understanding of
REST/SOAP
APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, identity integrations, and external data sources. Experience with architecture governance, design review, technical risk management, and production-readiness assessment. Strong communication skills across technical, business, security, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
Preferred:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer, CIS, CTA, or comparable certification.
Preferred:
experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry and/or direct HRSD, CSM, Employee Center, conversational service, or Virtual Agent experience. Already have an account? Log in here
