SENIOR AWS CLOUD ENGINEER

Role:
Contribute to the digital foundation that powers VulcanForms? manufacturing operations. This role involves building, standardizing, securing, scaling, and maintaining hybrid AWS-hosted and on-premises services that provide mission-critical support across multiple sites. You will help develop reliable data migration and processing services from the edge to the cloud, as well as analytics applications that enable insights and innovative capabilities for scalable additive manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure development for 24/7 manufacturing operations
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, security, and scalability of cloud services
  • Build Infrastructure as Code resources to automate environment provisioning, deployment, and service management
  • Scope, deploy, and manage AWS-hosted services for data ingestion, data lakes, and data warehousing
  • Implement comprehensive logging, tracing, and monitoring for system health and performance visibility
  • Partner with teams across the company to deliver services that accelerate workstreams and enable new ways of working
  • Support and manage the software development lifecycle
  • Deploy custom applications into production
  • Maintain cloud infrastructure, deployment, and software development best practices
  • Support hybrid cloud services and data migration initiatives
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in AWS Cloud, Platform, Site Reliability, or DevOps Engineering
  • Proven experience managing AWS-native resources in production environments
  • Strong proficiency with CDK, Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible for infrastructure management
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native networking, service networking, load balancing, and securing edge-to-cloud traffic
  • Proficiency in Python or Go for building custom operators, service integrations, or platform automation
  • Experience managing diverse deployment pipelines
  • Experience supporting high software quality and development standards
  • Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing multiple AWS accounts using Service Control Policies, permission sets, and IAM roles
  • Experience operating containerized workloads in diverse environments, including EKS and ECS
  • Experience with AWS-native streaming solutions, such as IoT Core, SiteWise, Kinesis, and Firehose
  • Experience managing AWS data lakes using Glue, Athena, and Lake Formation
  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and cloud or service migrations
  • Experience monitoring service metrics and logs with CloudWatch
  • Experience managing persistent storage for stateful workloads, including S3 and PostgreSQL
  • Prior experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Knowledge of MQTT, OPC-UA, or other industrial standard protocols and their integration with modern cloud platforms
Compensation:
  • Annual base salary: \$132,600 to \$182,300
  • Actual compensation depends on skills, qualifications, and experience.
