Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance a secure enterprise technology environment in Framingham, Massachusetts. This role focuses on maintaining reliable infrastructure across cloud and on-premises platforms while strengthening identity, endpoint, and server operations. The ideal candidate brings deep Microsoft ecosystem expertise, sound engineering judgment, and a track record of delivering well-documented technical solutions in regulated settings.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize enterprise platforms across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Windows Server environments.
- Manage hybrid infrastructure operations spanning cloud services and on-premises systems to ensure stability, performance, and secure access.
- Support endpoint and server management for Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices, applying configuration standards, policy controls, and lifecycle best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, identity, and collaboration issues, driving timely resolution and minimizing operational disruption.
- Lead or contribute to technical projects that improve core infrastructure services, strengthen security controls, and modernize enterprise systems.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including system configurations, operational procedures, and implementation records.
- Partner with security and IT stakeholders to uphold compliance expectations and support environments with elevated regulatory or security requirements.
- Assist with change management activities and planned infrastructure updates, ensuring changes are assessed, documented, and executed with minimal risk. Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise systems engineering and infrastructure support.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID or Active Directory, Intune, Microsoft Defender, Windows Server, and Windows 10/11 administration.
- Proven experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based environments, including hybrid identity solutions and collaboration platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose technical issues, deliver infrastructure projects, and produce thorough technical documentation.
- Background working in regulated, compliance-driven, or security-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with virtualization and networking concepts such as Hyper-V, firewalls, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience with tools and platforms such as Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, Fortinet technologies, or AWS GovCloud is preferred.
- Security-focused certifications such as Security+, Azure Security Engineer, or similar credentials are a plus.
