Job Description

FUNCTION
Supports and maintains IT systems in use at the Bank, to include: server hardware; server operating systems and utilities; Storage Area Networks and associated equipment/ software; enterprise applications and systems; associated system monitoring and management systems. This position is responsible for ensuring deployed systems are:
  • Proactively managed for performance and system health
  • Aligned to the Bank's lifecycle standards and policies
  • Installed in accordance with bank policy and licensing agreements.
Responsibilities also include problem identification and resolution related to the systems named above, as well as assisting other Bank personnel as requested. This role serves as the escalation point for the IT Support Services team and also works under management direction on new projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with and a strong focus on contemporary approaches to scripting and automation as it pertains to infrastructure deployment, system maintenance and patching, disaster recovery/business continuity and configuration management. Persons in this position are considered the subject matter experts in their relevant areas and are expected to maintain compliance, documentation and lifecycle of said areas. They are also expected to participate in a collaborative environment and utilize their unique points of view to assist the wider team in developing state of the art solutions that provide an exceptional customer experience.
Accountabilities:
Builds, configures and installs IT hardware systems in accordance with licensing agreements. Create operational efficiency by proposing, designing and implementing innovative and automated solutions for deployment and maintenance of the environment. Installs and configures system and application software according to Bank policies and procedures while adhering to licensing requirements. Develops and maintains high levels of knowledge of Bank systems and software, and of the capabilities of those systems and applications. As the Bank's subject matter expert (SME) in various areas, this role provides knowledge transfer, training and guidance to members of the IT Support Services team. As a senior team member, provides coaching, mentoring and support to IT engineering and support staff. Creates and maintains accurate diagrams and documentation of supported systems and applications. Assists with the design, testing and implementation of new systems and applications. Leads and participates in the development of Bank IT policies, procedures and process, as well as their maintenance. Develops and maintains Bank IT best practices in accordance with business needs and industry recommendations. Monitors system and application alerts, responding as needed to resolve outages and issues. Provides IT leadership in Disaster Recovery/ Business Continuity exercises. Participates in the after-hours On-Call rotation. Establishes and maintains good working relationships Provides outstanding customer service Other responsibilities as assigned.
Business Partner Relations:
Coordinates tasks/activities with the Bank's business partners as directed. Informs stakeholders of relevant activities
Compliance and Control:
Assists in ensuring that the Bank complies with local, state and federal regulations. Adheres to applicable Bank policies, processes and procedures. Operates within the change control framework as it pertains to IT operations.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year college degree or equivalent work experience required; business experience and graduate degree preferred. Relevant technical certifications required. 7-10 years of related and relevant employment experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytic abilities. Experience with scripting and automation in Active Directory, Linux and VMWare environments. Expert abilities and experience with many, coupled with understanding of all of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows Server; Red Hat Linux; Powershell; Automation technologies; Microsoft Exchange; Microsoft Active Directory; VMWare; Fibre Channel; Storage Area Networks; Load Balancing; DNS; DHCP; Backup Solutions; Strong documentation skills, to include proficiency with MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-Visio. Experience working successfully with third-parties in the course of troubleshooting or business-as-usual. The desire and ability to maintain knowledge and skill currency within the fast-changing technological realm. The ability to successfully participate in team endeavors. The ability to provide effective training for other members of the Bank's IT team. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
