Systems Engineer Job Description This role focuses on understanding customer needs and translating them into robust system architectures and clear requirements. Responsibilities Study and analyze customer needs to translate them into clear system requirements and design objectives. Develop comprehensive system architectures that meet customer, technical, and business requirements. Collaborate closely with multi-functional development teams to ensure alignment between system design, implementation, and validation. Produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports system understanding, integration, and operation. Influence and guide the technical direction of products in collaboration with customers and internal teams. Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve complex system-level issues. Provide leadership within the engineering effort, helping to coordinate activities and drive decisions that support project goals. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a relevant technical domain. Proven experience in writing clear, structured, and testable system requirements. Strong experience in system architecture development and system-level design. Demonstrated leadership skills within engineering or project teams. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on complex technical and system-level challenges. Solid foundation in systems engineering principles and practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with vehicle electronic architectures. Knowledge of audio processing concepts and applications. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SysML. Understanding of Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) processes and standards. Interest in acoustics and related engineering challenges. Work Environment You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment that emphasizes systems thinking, clear communication, and high-quality documentation. The role involves close interaction with development teams and customers, with a strong focus on technical discussions, architecture definition, and requirements refinement. You can expect to use modern systems engineering methods and tools, including MBSE approaches where applicable, while contributing to complex, technology-driven products. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr.
