Job Description
Systems Engineer - Requirements Forest Lake, MN | Contract | $32-$37/hr | On-Site Konik is partnering with a leading manufacturer of complex electromechanical products to support systems engineering initiatives during a critical requirements-management transition. This is a six-month contract opportunity that provides strong visibility across engineering teams and the opportunity to help establish best practices for requirements development and traceability. This role is ideal for an engineer with product development experience who understands how system, subsystem, and component-level requirements are defined, managed, validated, and verified in a structured product development environment. Requirements Responsibilities:
Support the migration, organization, and improvement of engineering requirements within a modern requirements management platform. Partner with design, subsystem, and systems engineers to refine, streamline, and document requirements that are clear, testable, and traceable. Apply systems engineering principles and industry best practices to improve requirement quality, verification, and validation processes. Maintain relationships between vehicle, subsystem, and component requirements to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs and design intent. Assist with interface definition and integration activities across multiple engineering disciplines and product areas. Support development of verification methods, test plans, and validation approaches tied to requirement fulfillment. Coach engineering teams on effective use of requirements management tools, workflows, and documentation standards. Systems Engineer -Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Minimum 2 years of product or subsystem design engineering experience within a structured stage-gate development environment. Experience creating, managing, refining, or validating engineering requirements. Working knowledge of systems engineering processes, including requirements decomposition, verification, and validation. Requirements management tool experience such as Codebeamer, DOORS, Jama, RequisitePro, or similar platforms. Strong ability to collaborate across technical teams while managing multiple priorities and deliverables. Local availability for predominantly on-site work in the north metro area.Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting large-scale requirements database migrations or process improvement initiatives. Familiarity with INCOSE requirements-writing principles and systems engineering methodologies.Benefits:
