Platform Support Engineer

  • St Louis, MO Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
    (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Load Balancing)
    Experience in production support and operations for cloud platforms and hosted applications
    Proficiency in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA)
    Hands‑on support for containerized workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
    Knowledge of GCP networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, routing, DNS)
    Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging
    Strong understanding of IAM, service accounts, roles, and access control
    Ability to support SLA/SLO adherence, on‑call rotations, and operational runbooks
    Working knowledge of Linux systems administration and shell scripting
    Experience using ticketing and ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.

) Secondary Skills (Good‑to‑Have / Supporting) Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager

Basic CI/CD support experience using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins

Familiarity with application performance monitoring and capacity planning

Ability to work with cross‑functional teams (Dev, Platform, Security, SRE)

Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance controls

Experience supporting data platforms or services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL)

Scripting experience with Python or Bash for automation and operational tasks

Knowledge of DevOps / SRE concepts (error budgets, reliability metrics)

Experience with cost monitoring and optimization in GCP
