We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with Pega platform experience to support Payment Operations applications running on Pega Smart Investigate. This role focuses on application-level reliability within a production environment, with responsibility for improving observability, stability, and operational processes. The position sits within a shared services operations technology group supporting payment evaluations, regulatory operations, financial crimes, and related domains. The primary focus will be ensuring payment investigation workflows function reliably and efficiently for business users. This is a hands-on SRE role with a strong emphasis on production support, monitoring optimization, and identifying gaps in operational processes. The infrastructure will already be in place—this role centers on application reliability rather than full-stack engineering.Responsibilities:
Production Support & Application Reliability Provide hands-on support for Pega Smart Investigate applications used in Payment Operations. Troubleshoot issues impacting payment investigation workflows and case processing. Ensure system stability and performance in a high-volume production environment. Participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend support as needed. Observability & Monitoring Optimization Enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting to improve visibility into application performance. Identify gaps in observability and reduce reactive, business-reported issues. Leverage tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar. Incident & Problem Management Lead incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues. Proactively identify recurring issues and implement long-term fixes. Improve Mean Time to Detection (MTTD) and Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR). SRE & Process Improvement Mindset Identify and address gaps where issues are being surfaced by business users instead of monitoring systems. Drive proactive reliability improvements and operational efficiencies. Support "shift-left" practices by embedding reliability earlier in the lifecycle. PFIX Environment Build & Support Support the build-out and ongoing operations of the PFIX environment to reduce production impact. Help transition toward a more stable and scalable support model. Automation & Efficiency Identify manual or repetitive support tasks and implement automation where possible. Contribute to self-healing and resiliency improvements.Qualifications :
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), production support, or similar roles. Experience working with the Pega platform (Smart Investigate experience preferred but not required). Strong understanding of Kubernetes / OpenShift (OCP) environments. Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics). Solid database knowledge, including querying and performance troubleshooting. Proven experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting. Experience with automation or scripting (Python or Java preferred). Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with business and technical teams. Experience with AutoSys or similar job scheduling tools (Pega workflow familiarity is helpful). Background in corporate banking or payment operations environments. Interest in or exposure to AI/ML concepts, particularly within SRE or automation contexts.
