Job Description

The Cloud Engineer Lead supervises the design and up-keep of cloud-based systems in order to ensure the organization operates efficiently and safely. Providing experience and expertise, the Cloud Engineer Lead ensures that the cloud infrastructure remains up-to-date with new cloud products, technology and best practices to ensure the system is optimized for the organization's needs. Essential Job Function Leads the review of the organization's cloud architecture and how it can best support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms. Identifies the need and installment for optimal cloud solutions across the organization based on current data needs, and that implementation is successful. Leads the review of cloud hardware, software, and applications to ensure data is secure and that security management and privacy requirements are incorporated. Advises lower-level professionals on how to best test, implement, and analyze cloud infrastructure using appropriate specialized infrastructure tools, techniques, and technologies. Provides expertise on how to resolve complex cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities. Remains up to date about new cloud products, technology, and best practices. Leads communication across teams as needed in order to foster collaboration and increase productivity. Leads the monitoring and tracking of cloud spending against cost governance guidelines. Leads the development, support, and documentation related to Disaster Recovery efforts for hybrid cloud workloads. Advises in budgetary decisions regarding enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure and participates in cost-management of current tools and resources. Performs other duties as assigned.
