Job Description
- Only qualified Senior Java Full Stack Engineer candidates located near Jersey City, New Jersey, will be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence
- Required Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Master's degree preferredRequired Experience
- Typically 8+ years of experience building large-scale, production-grade software systems
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java backend development and distributed system design
- Experience developing full-stack applications using Java and React.js
- Experience handling large data volumes and optimizing data access for reporting and analytics
- Experience with modern data platforms and data lakes
- Financial services or FinTech experience preferred but not mandatoryTechnical Skills
- Expert knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, microservices, object-oriented programming, and design patterns
- Hands-on experience with React.js, UI development, and REST APIs
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Experience querying and optimizing large datasets stored in modern data platforms such as Amazon S3 and HDFS
- Familiarity with Snowflake and cloud-based data processing
- Experience with relational and/or document-oriented databases
- Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis and Apache Pinot
- Knowledge of containerized deployments, cloud-native architecture, Agile development, and DevOps practices
- Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting
- Familiarity with chatbot integration and conversational AI technologies preferredSoft Skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and drive projects independently
- Ability to translate business and analytical requirements into effective technical solutions
- Ability to influence technical direction, mentor junior developers, and manage multiple initiatives
- Ability to collaborate with product leads and cross-functional teamsResponsibilities
- Lead hands-on development, technical design, and implementation of key application components
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
- Build React.js user interfaces and integrate them with backend services and APIs
- Query and optimize access to large datasets across modern data platforms and data lakes
- Develop high-performance computing solutions for data processing, reporting, and analytics
- Integrate applications with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
- Optimize data access and processing to improve application performance and response times
- Collaborate with product leads, engineering teams, and global stakeholders to deliver quality solutions
- Work in an Agile development environment and support efficient product delivery
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
- Support business, analytical, and regulatory requirements through effective technology solutionsWork Arrangement
- Onsite work required in Jersey City, New Jersey
- Contract-to-hire engagement
