We're looking for a strategic technology leader who can shape the future of enterprise platforms and engineering practices. As a Principal Engineer, you'll provide deep technical expertise, influence senior leadership, and drive the design of scalable, reusable solutions that support evolving business priorities. In this role, you'll help treat platforms as products—establishing ownership, defining roadmaps, and driving adoption across the organization. You'll guide investment decisions by balancing business value, cost, risk, and delivery considerations while promoting engineering standards that improve consistency and quality across teams. This is an opportunity to make a broad impact by enabling large developer and business-user communities through modern platforms, tooling, and architecture strategies that advance the organization's technology capabilities.
Depth & Scope:
Recognized as an internal and external expert in specific domain(s) within the organization; Spends the majority of their time on technical issues Sets the direction and oversees the work of other IT professionals as assigned on complex, highly-visible engineering projects of significant profile, strategic importance, and enterprise impact to the Bank Recognized as an internal expert within the broad engineering field and may have specialized expertise within multiple domains Provides consultative and strategic guidance to executive leadership
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's or Graduate degree Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering) or 15+ years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience treating platforms or shared capabilities as products
  • Exposure to managing reusable platforms or services with defined ownership, roadmaps, and adoption focus. Prioritization frameworks and decision support
  • Experience evaluating competing initiatives and balancing business value, cost, and delivery constraints. Architecture enablement and standards
  • Familiarity with driving consistency in delivery practices, documentation, or engineering standards across teams. Developer/platform ecosystem experience
  • Exposure to enterprise platforms and tooling that support large developer or business-user communities.
