growing Syracuse-area defense technology company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and performance analysis of advanced sensor and surveillance systems. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and technical analysis—not primarily requirements management or documentation. Responsibilities Integrate, test, validate, and troubleshoot complex electronic and sensor systems Use Python and/or MATLAB for modeling, engineering analysis, and test-data processing Plan and execute laboratory and system-level testing Analyze performance data and identify practical, data-driven solutions Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-interface issues Support system architecture and product-development decisions Collaborate with electrical, software, RF, product, and program teams Document test results, conclusions, and engineering recommendations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field Approximately 5-10+ years of relevant engineering experience Strong hands-on experience with system integration, testing, validation, or troubleshooting Practical experience using Python and/or MATLAB Experience with complex electronic, sensor, communications, hardware/software, or defense-related systems Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and effectively within a cross-functional engineering team Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required Preferred Experience Experience with radar, surveillance systems, defense/aerospace products, MIL-SPEC electronics, communications, signal processing, software-defined radio, or sensor-system integration is highly valued. Direct radar experience is preferred but not required . Candidates with strong engineering fundamentals and transferable experience will be considered. Work Arrangement & Benefits The position will initially be on-site five days per week in Syracuse , with potential to transition to a hybrid schedule after onboarding.
Salary:
