IT Business Intelligence Data Platform Developer (Miamisburg, OH) Job description
Purpose:
The IT Business Intelligence Data Platform Developer plays an important role in the design, development, and support of Billerud's data platform ecosystem. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining data integration solutions, databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms that support reporting, analytics, and business decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Analytics Developers, application teams, and IT colleagues to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions. This role requires a strong foundation in SQL development, data integration, data warehousing, and modern cloud technologies such as Azure and Snowflake. Key customers include Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources, and Senior Leadership. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow their technical expertise in data engineering, cloud data platforms, analytics, and emerging AI-enabled technologies while contributing to the organization's data modernization initiatives.
Qualifications Key Accountabilities:
Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise data platform solutions that enable reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision making across the organization. Build and optimize data warehouses, data marts, databases, data models, and data pipelines to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality data delivery. Develop, support, and enhance data integration solutions that connect ERP, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, and other enterprise systems across cloud and on-premises environments. Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data platform, database, and integration performance to ensure data accuracy, system reliability, availability, and operational effectiveness. Partner with business stakeholders, Analytics Developers, and cross-functional IT teams to understand requirements and deliver data solutions that support reporting, analytics, automation, and business processes. Develop and maintain SQL-based solutions, database objects, APIs, and automation scripts while leveraging modern technologies such as Azure, Snowflake, Python, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and GitHub. Support data governance, security, compliance, and documentation standards, ensuring appropriate controls, data quality, and stewardship practices are maintained. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, increase platform performance, and modernize data and analytics capabilities. Participate in project delivery, operational support activities, support rotations, and occasional off-hours support while maintaining a high level of service and responsiveness.
