Specializing in incident response at the local and enterprise-wide levels as well as forensic analysis, our personnel deliver threat analysis and reporting while implementing solutions based on mature planning and development practices.
Summary:
Goldbelt Nighthawk is hiring a Cloud Engineer to support a long-term contract in Mechanicsburg, PA. The selected candidate will provide support and mentorship in the engineering and sustainment of an AWS-centric cloud brokerage. Ideal candidate will need strong experience with cloud architecture, DevSecOps, IaC, Containerization, Zero Trust, and AI. Within driving distance to Mechanicsburg, PA is preferred.
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Provide guidance on Secure Computing Architecture, Cloud Brokerage Services, Shared Security Services Management, Cloud Security Support Services, Cloud Governance, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) coordination, and Departmental Cloud/Hybrid certification Provide leadership/participation in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles in the development of workflows, task accomplishment, and implementation/management of cloud services Provide mentorship, guidance, and training for government personnel as a normal part of daily operations Incorporate Security Controls, Continuous Monitoring, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST SP 800-37, Security Risk Impact Analysis, Monitoring, and Reporting Be cognizant of Vulnerability Management, including Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) closures Promote an environment of continuous process improvement, learning, and team collaboration Author formal service evaluations, architecture decision records, and design documentation that determine which AWS services are approved for tenant consumption within brokerage, including security posture, IL4/IL5 constraints, cost, and operational impact
Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent customer service, organizational, and technical writing skills Ability to clearly communicate with senior government staff Ability to articulate complex concepts using plain language to maximize understanding at all levels of the organization Ability to de-escalate any technical issues and quickly enable rapid resolution Demonstrated hands-on experience with IaC such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform Demonstrated hands-on experience with Containerization Orchestration such as ECS and EKS Demonstrated hands-on experience with commercial, FEDRAMP High/ DoD Impact Level 2, 4, and 5 Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud offerings Demonstrated hands-on experience with cloud network architecture, including VPC design, subnetting, routing, and cross-account / cross-VPC connectivity with large multi-account environments Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with Information Security and Assurance Principles and associated supporting technologies Familiarity with Secure SDLC, CI/CD, and version control (Git) workflows including branching, code review, and release management
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field Computing Environment Certification - AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate Information Assurance Technical II (IAT-2) qualification - CompTIA Sec+ Minimum 5+ years of experience in the following areas: DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) DoD Authority to Operate (ATO) DoD Zero Trust Proven success with application refactoring Proven success in large, complex, enterprise-level cloud environments Network cloud architecture development DoD information system development processes Configuration and change management
Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications:
