Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
  • Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of IT experience with a strong emphasis on SQL Server administration
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • SQL Server installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Backup/recovery strategies and performance tuning
  • Able to write and maintain lightweight scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server in a support capacity (not necessarily deep SME in all areas)
  • Experience supporting production systems in a change management focused environment (incident, change, root cause investigations) Protected Individuals ---
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with:
  • High availability solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering)
  • PowerShell or automation (e.g., dbatools)
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V)
  • Exposure to Azure (IaaS, PaaS, or SQL-related services)
  • Experience identifying, researching, and remediating vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs, patching, configuration hardening) across SQL Server and Windows environments
  • Familiarity with:
  • Active Directory, DNS, IIS, and other Windows Server roles and features (supporting) Roles & Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments (installation, configuration, performance tuning, backups/recovery)
  • Design and maintain database solutions to support business applications
  • Support Windows Server infrastructure related to SQL environments
  • Troubleshoot incidents and drive resolution across database and OS layers
  • Participate in change, incident, and problem management processes
  • Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors
  • Identify, research, and remediate system vulnerabilities, including applying patches and implementing secure configurations
