Apache Solr Lead /
Architect Introduction:
This position is for an Apache Solr Lead / Architect based in Irving, TX. The role is a hybrid one, requiring 3 days of onsite work per week. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience and a strong background in Solr architecture, SolrCloud, indexing strategy, schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, and distributed search platforms.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement Solr architecture Work on SolrCloud and distributed search platforms Optimize queries and performance tuning Plan and manage capacity and scalability Utilize monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK Implement CI/CD and deployment automation Conduct platform assessments and architecture reviews Communicate effectively with stakeholders
Requirements:
Required Skills:
10+ years in Search/Data Platforms 5+ years hands-on Apache Solr experience Experience with SolrCloud, Lucene, Schema Design, and Indexing Expertise in Query & Performance Optimization Knowledge of JVM Tuning, Capacity Planning, and Scalability Experience with Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK Experience with CI/CD & Deployment Automation Experience in Platform Assessment and Architecture Review Strong stakeholder communication skills Nice to
Have:
Experience with Elasticsearch Experience with AWS / Azure Solr deployments Experience in Healthcare or Large-scale catalog search
