Infrastructure Platform Engineer - 100% Remote#26-05880 Inver Grove Heights, MN Remote Right to Hire Starts 6/15/2026 Ends 8/31/2026 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking an Infrastructure Platform Engineer for a contract-to-hire position with an Agricultural Cooperative located in Inver Grove Heights, MN. This is a 3-month contract opportunity. Role is 100% remote.

Compensation:

$60.00 - $63.00 per hour, W2 This position is part of a small team responsible for engineering, managing, and automating server operating system platforms across public and private cloud environments. The role focuses on full lifecycle Server OS management using modern infrastructure automation practices including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management with tools like Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Chef, AWS, and Azure. Candidates must be willing and able to convert to a full-time employee if the opportunity arises.

Responsibilities:

Engineer, manage, and support standardized server operating system platforms across cloud and on-premises environments Support lifecycle activities including provisioning, configuration, patching,pliance validation, and retirement of server assets Maintain OS standards for Linux and Windows Server platforms, including configuration baselines, security settings, and operational requirements Build, maintain, and publish standardized server images using tools such as Packer Design, implement, and maintain OS configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Chef Support enterprise server patch management processes for Linux and Windows Server platforms Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and related tooling Support server platform services within AWS and Azure cloud environments Manage and support centralized file services, including SMB-based file s Support automation and integration with ServiceNow for server provisioning, lifecycle management, and CMDB updates Build and maintain automation pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and process diagrams

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience Experience in server platform engineering, infrastructure automation, systems administration, cloud infrastructure, or related technical roles Experience managing Linux server platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux, or similar distributions Strong understanding of server OS lifecycle management, including image management, configuration management, patching, andpliance Experience building and managing server images using Packer or similar image automation tools Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and/or Chef Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling Understanding of OS-level permissions, identity integration, access controls, and security hardening Ability to script and automate using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages Experience with patch management, vulnerability remediation, andpliance reporting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strongmunication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation, standardization, and operational excellence Desired skills: Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments Experience with Windows Server administration and SMB file management Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services and cloud platform patterns Familiarity with Azure infrastructure services and landing zone concepts Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB processes, ITSM workflows, or automation integrations Strong Python skills Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
