Cloud Engineer - NAVSUP OIS Overview / Job Responsibilities GDIT is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) and to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program. The candidate must be well-versed in the administration of Cloud assets and DevSecOps, and must be solution-oriented, driven, and enjoy teaming with other best and brightest engineers on highly visible, technically challenging projects and offerings. Providing support for existing services and being a key player in our up-coming modernization efforts, we are looking for high-caliber, well-rounded professionals who are passionate about emerging technology, and who have a strong background in Linux, Windows, Cloud, and DevSecOps administration and automation. The program is based in Mechanicsburg, PA and Yorktown, VA. This position can be performed remotely. However, travel to the customer site will be required. As Cloud Engineer, you will provide technical support for the development, engineering, APIs, integration, and testing of specific components of complex cloud applications to include requirements analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessments. The Cloud Engineer plays a key role in the OIS Cloud/DevSecOps team. You will work closely with the customer Product Owner and assist in development of system engineering documentation for portfolio applications, such as system requirements, capabilities, and interface control documents, using GitLab Ultimate, Azure DevOps and other Collaboration and Architecture Tools.Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the principal IT engineer to provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of IT solutions that enhance overall system performance and availability. Act as primary liaison betweenNAVSUP OIS
customer and third-party cloud broker (NAVAIR) in operational maintenance of theNAVSUP OIS
Cloud architecture and ecosystem, to include access, cost estimation, service requests, and new resource requests Assists in development of agile methodology (SAFe, Scrum, Scrum of Scrums, Kanban, DevSecOps). This includes backlog structure and management, governance/change control, and other key processes that lead the execution at the portfolio level. Conduct engineering system development tasks including system requirements analysis, system architecture and design, preliminary design, critical design, system integration, formal verification, and formal validation. Perform Requirements Analysis Engineering and other system engineering practices. Produce technical documentation in support of engineering solutions that include, but are not limited to, architectural drawings, detailed design specifications, and thorough implementation instructions Assist with operational, technical tool standardization, maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, and system and services views for architectures using applicable Navy set security standards. Guide and assist DevOps/DevSecOps teams with pipeline best practices and tool selection Develop, update, and maintain program of record documentation. Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure Assist with the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software and system management tools Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies Must have DOW Secret level clearance to start; U.S. Citizen required only forFederal Clearance Requirement Certification Requirement:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar equivalent Cloud environment certification (if not in hand, must be obtained within 6 months of onboarding) BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience engineering and architecting enterprise IT solutions Have a broad technical background spanning many of the technical areas supported by the program. The ability to clearly articulate technical messages for a variety of audiences, both through written and verbal means, will be a critical skill necessary for success in this position. Extensive understanding and experience programming and designing software using Terraform, Ansible, Java, J2EE, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat and AWS cloud services Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies; Jenkins, GitLab Ultimate, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, SonarQube, Fortify, Junit, Karma, Selenium, Cyprus, Docker, Artifactory Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design Strong verbal and written technical communication skills Ability to liaise with government, vendors, and other IT personnel for problem resolutionQualifications:
Demonstrated experience in network and cyber security design, engineering, and operations with emphasis on Navy capabilities Demonstrated experience developing models using Sparx EA, Splunk, MuleSoft, SalesForce Experience withNIST SP 800

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
