Dell Marketing L.P. is seeking a Software System Senior Principal Engineer for our Round Rock, TX facility and can work remotely.
Duties:
Modify system software to correct errors in the original implementation and create extensions to existing programs. Develop and implement testing procedures for product quality or performance assurance. Add new features or performance improvements. Review customer requirements, specifications and designs to assure product quality. Build and implement software as a product, using best-in-class development process/lifecycle management. Gather business requirements and participate in product definition and feature prioritization, including customer usability studies. Perform competitive analysis for features at a product level scope. Create technical documentation of system software products/solutions. Assist with the development and review of end user and technical end user documentation. Provide technology consultations for customers and the internal engineering team. Define products for effective solutions with compelling value in customer deployments. Serve as the architect and key developer. Identify opportunities for growth and anchor to proof concept and innovation programs. Ensure consistent high standards across in-house design, contracted design work, third-party partnerships, and third party solutions, drive solutions aligned with Telco industry standards such as ORAN. Collaborate closely throughout the development process to jointly establish top-level product characteristics and technology selections.
Requirements:
Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, or related occupation. Alternatively a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 10 years of experience as a Software Engineer, or related occupation.
Requires experience with:
O-RAN and 3GPP; C/C++ development; Linux/RTOS platforms; LTE and 5G-NR radio protocols; 4G/5G core network elements; DPDK; performance testing and validating RAN/devices; system integration; and tools like GDB, Valgrind, iperf and Wireshark.
