Staff Architect Duties:
Lead the architectural design and development of Ecommerce and Microservices-based applications, leveraging Java and past Ecommerce experience, using data-driven insights to create scalable, efficient solutions. Have a deep understanding of the complete Ecommerce lifecycle, from customer browsing and product selection to order fulfillment, payment processing, and post-purchase support. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders—to define requirements and deliver scalable, impactful solutions leveraging ecommerce dataset in Oracle/DB2. Design and implement Cloud-based solutions, with a strong emphasis on GCP (Google Cloud Platform), using industry best practices and design principles. Provide high-level oversight on portfolio decisions, influencing both business and technical architecture roadmaps. Create and implement scalable solutions to complex business challenges, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and methodologies. Partner with Product Owners and Engineering Teams to align technical design with the product roadmap and business objectives. Prototype innovative, cross-platform business solutions to evaluate new technologies. Review architectural designs to ensure solutions are consistent, flexible, cost-effective, and maintainable. Guide Application and Infrastructure Architects to ensure smooth development processes and timely releases. Provide architectural consulting to engineering teams to maintain consistency, security, and flexibility in product design. Foster strong, strategic relationships with product owners, vendors, and technology teams. Stay actively engaged in both architectural and engineering activities, maintaining a hands-on approach to technology. Mentor teams to develop advanced engineering and architecture capabilities. Drive continuous learning and improvement, ensuring teams meet current and future technical challenges.
Min Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Engineering or a closely related field, 12 years relevant professional experience, including 12 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java and modern backend technologies in Ecommerce platform; 7 years of experience in building highly available, performant systems, platforms including experience with distributed systems; 5 years of experience designing and implementing Microservices Architecture; 5 years of experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure); 5 years of solid understanding of database management (SQL/NoSQL), and the ability to query and analyze large datasets; 5 years of experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern version control (Git); 5 years of experience in frameworks such as Spring Boot, NodeJS, ReactJS; 5 years of experience in layered solutions and security-conscious design principles; and 5 years of experience in full range of technical architecture components across systems and products. Telecommuting Optional - May work from any location within normal commuting distance of Dublin, California subject to company hybrid work policy. 40 hrs/wk; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mon-Fri; Salary $221,187 -$240,000/year.
