Lafayette, LA Knoxville, TN Columbia, SC Birmingham, AL Position Description We are seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to support enterprise-wide Application Portfolio Management (APM), Technology Portfolio Management (TPM), and modernization initiatives within a large financial services environment. This role will help mature how application and technology portfolios are assessed, governed, rationalized, and modernized. The Principal Enterprise Architect will establish portfolio frameworks, improve traceability across business capabilities and technology assets, and transform architecture information into structured data that supports informed investment and modernization decisions. The role will work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, Product, Engineering, and Portfolio Management teams and utilize enterprise architecture platforms such as ARIS, Alfabet, or comparable tools . Experience supporting modernization initiatives within AWS-heavy cloud environments is highly valuable. Required Qualifications 10+ years of Enterprise Architecture experience within large, complex enterprise environments. Strong hands-on experience with Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Portfolio Management (TPM) . Experience evaluating application and technology portfolios for: Modernization Rationalization Lifecycle management Technical health Strong understanding of enterprise architecture modeling, metamodels, architecture repositories, and Architecture-as-Data practices . Hands-on experience with ARIS, Alfabet, or comparable Enterprise Architecture Management platforms . Ability to establish and maintain relationships across: Business capabilities Value streams Applications Technologies Supporting processes Experience developing: Portfolio assessment criteria Modernization scorecards Architecture metrics Guardrails Governance standards Strong understanding of cloud modernization , preferably within AWS-heavy enterprise environments . Experience translating architecture and portfolio data into actionable recommendations for technology and business stakeholders. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams . Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience is strongly preferred. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Compensation & Benefits A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this role in the U.S. is $129,100 - $226,200 , depending on skills, experience, training, certifications, and other relevant factors.
