Pilot Company is seeking a Cloud Operations Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting cloud infrastructure and application migration efforts while working alongside experienced professionals who are dedicated to developing the next generation of technology talent. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Cloud Operations team. Your key responsibility will be supporting the maintenance, optimization, and expansion of our AWS cloud platform while contributing to critical cloud migration initiatives. You'll gain exposure to real-world cloud operations, infrastructure automation, and application support while helping teams across the organization adopt cloud-based solutions. This internship is not only an opportunity to strengthen your technical skills but also a chance to grow within a collaborative team that values innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence. What You'll Do Support cloud migration initiatives: Assist with migrating applications and infrastructure from on-premises data centers into AWS, helping ensure smooth and successful transitions Maintain cloud platforms: Contribute to the ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of Pilot's AWS environment and the applications hosted within it Develop and automate solutions: Write and maintain code using Python and Terraform to support infrastructure automation, platform enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
Provide operational support:
Monitor ServiceNow tickets, troubleshoot issues, participate in break-fix activities, and help resolve cloud-related incidents Collaborate across teams: Partner with application teams across the organization, including Energy, Retail, and Supply Chain, to help onboard applications to the cloud and implement platform guardrails and best practices
Qualifications What We're Looking For Education:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Rising seniors are preferred
Technical Skills:
Experience with Python is required. Exposure to Terraform, Git repositories, AWS cloud technologies, and Linux operating systems is highly preferred
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple teams. We're looking for someone who is energetic, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
