Job Description

Description Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by architecting, integrating, and sustaining enterprise infrastructure supporting a high-priority malware analysis modernization program. This role provides technical leadership across Linux platforms, virtualization, networking, and containerized environments while enabling mission-critical cyber analysis, orchestration, and data enrichment capabilities. Working within an Agile and DevSecOps environment, the role drives infrastructure modernization, automation, and platform reliability to support the development and operation of next-generation enterprise mission systems. Responsibilities Architect, deploy, and sustain Linux-based enterprise infrastructure supporting mission-critical cyber operations. Engineer and administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including Red Hat Satellite and FreeIPA identity management. Design, deploy, and manage VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VMware vSAN environments. Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible and Bash scripting to streamline deployment, configuration management, and operational support. Design, deploy, and optimize Kubernetes (RKE2) clusters supporting containerized mission applications. Architect and maintain Cisco network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and enterprise connectivity solutions. Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, virtualization, storage, and application support issues. Implement system hardening, security compliance, patch management, and configuration management in accordance with enterprise security requirements. Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools. Collaborate with software engineers, cybersecurity teams, and platform engineers to support Agile development, DevSecOps practices, and infrastructure modernization. Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and engineering standards. Qualifications Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of systems engineering experience. Expert experience engineering and supporting Linux-based enterprise environments. Expert experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Satellite, and FreeIPA identity management. Experience designing and supporting VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VMware vSAN environments. Experience developing infrastructure automation using Ansible and Bash scripting. Experience designing, deploying, and supporting Kubernetes (RKE2) platforms. Expert experience architecting, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco network infrastructure, including switches and routers. Extensive experience diagnosing and resolving complex enterprise infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and storage issues. Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and enterprise operational support. Familiarity with GitLab, Jira, and Confluence. Strong technical leadership, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills. Desired Qualifications Experience administering MongoDB database clusters. Experience supporting Trellix FireEye VX, AX, and CM appliances. Experience supporting malware analysis, cyber operations, or enterprise cybersecurity modernization programs. Experience designing highly available infrastructure supporting mission-critical enterprise applications. Salary Range USD $190,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.
