We have an exciting opportunity for a DOD Skillbridge Program Intern - Cybersecurity Software and Systems Engineer to join our team. Our company has teamed up with the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program to provide career opportunities in: •This is a temporary role not to exceed 6 months. •DOD SkillBridge Program Fellowship -Cybersecurity Software and Systems Engineer:
Collaborate with theNASA/JETS
Cybersecurity Engineering team and develop an intimate knowledge of Cybersecurity Software and Systems Engineering. Learn and perform the following tasks: Spacecraft Cybersecurity Engineering- Develop cybersecurity requirements for spacecraft systems Learn to perform cybersecurity oversight and impact assessments Perform assessment for completeness of design and implementation throughout the full software and hardware development lifecycle Help define NASA's integrated cybersecurity effort on the Gateway program Help collect and organize the cybersecurity architecture elements such as Needs, Goals, Objectives, Capabilities, Processes, and Use Cases Work with a variety of NASA leadership teams including JSC engineering to develop the needs of NASA cybersecurity Learn the team/project goals, track progress, and provide weekly status reportingHere's What You'll Need:
To have served at least 180 days in any of the U.S. Armed Forces To be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any of the U.S. Armed Forces (you may start your application prior to the 180 days) Must be on track to receive an Honorable Discharge Must have taken any serviceTAPS/TGPS
Must have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months Must have command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program Must be able and willing to work onsite at JSC in Houston 5 days per week. Must be a self-starter able to perform other duties as required or assigned Ideally, you'll have: Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent work experience Experience/exposure with cybersecurity software and systems engineering Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills Ability to collaborate/coordinate across diverse groups Excellent organizational skills Self-starter who can understand and absorb new concepts quickly Proficiency with Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) Previous experience with process improvements and automation Keen interest in working for NASA and advancing NASA's mission We're always looking for dynamic and engaged people to join our team. Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
