Job Description

Job Title:
Lead Systems Infrastructure Architect Overview / Summary Lead the design, support, and modernization of compute and systems infrastructure in a hands-on leadership role supporting critical operations, virtualization, cloud environments, performance optimization, and infrastructure reliability. This role provides L4 compute expertise while remaining actively involved in complex infrastructure operations. Key Responsibilities Provide L4 hands-on compute architecture and advanced systems troubleshooting. Lead the design and improvement of compute, virtualization, and systems infrastructure. Support VMware vSphere, Citrix, server platforms, cloud compute, and hybrid infrastructure. Evaluate compute performance, capacity, availability, and reliability. Analyze metrics and recommend optimization opportunities. Lead root cause analysis for complex compute and infrastructure incidents. Coordinate with network, security, storage, backup, M365, telecom, and vendor teams. Support cloud transition and hybrid architecture planning. Create and maintain system diagrams, architecture documentation, configurations, and procedures. Provide technical guidance to other infrastructure engineers. Participate in critical incident response and on-call escalation. Required Qualifications 10+ years of systems engineering, compute architecture, virtualization, or senior infrastructure support experience. L4-level compute architecture and hands-on troubleshooting capability. Strong experience with VMware vSphere, Citrix, Windows Server, Linux, or similar compute platforms. Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or hybrid cloud environments. Experience with monitoring tools and infrastructure performance analysis. Strong understanding of compute, virtualization, storage, backup, network, and security dependencies. Experience leading complex infrastructure incidents and root cause analysis.
