Investment Engineer, Portfolio Management and Platform
Job Description
Investment Engineer, Portfolio Management and Platform Confidential
• Texas
• Full-time, on-site An independent registered investment adviser firm is seeking a rare hybrid: an investment professional who can build a portfolio and also help develop software that runs it. You will work alongside the investment committee and an in-house engineering team, helping manage client assets on Schwab while turning research, risk, and trading processes into code inside a proprietary analytics platform. If you have ever been the person on an investment team who writes the Python that everyone else depends on, or the engineer who reads 10-Ks for fun, this role was built for you. About the firm The firm runs a set of model portfolios alongside systematic equity, options income, and fixed income strategies, with Schwab as primary custodian. Every model runs under a written IPS and a disciplined supervision cadence reviewed by an investment committee. The firm is also building an AI-native wealth and planning platform for independent advisors, including a proprietary market data, portfolio management, and analytics engine. That engine is where the research lives: custom indicators, risk analytics, Monte Carlo and capture-ratio reporting, and model-versus-actual drift monitoring. The advisory business is the platform's first customer, so your work touches real client money and real product at the same time. What you will do Portfolio management (about half your time) Help run model portfolios on
