Dell Products L.P. is seeking a Software System Engineer 2 for our Round Rock, TX facility.
Duties:
Responsible for testing third party 4G/5G core network solutions' performance to integrate them to Edge Computing products. Develop and execute of a validation plan of 4G/5G core network's standard functionalities through trace analysis and simulation tools. Collaborate with Automation and RAN focused teams. Perform troubleshooting, developing and testing of validations/tasks. Troubleshoot through logs, install Spirent Landslide on jumphost ensuring RAN readiness and integration with Core environment. Use Open5GS for simulating 5G Core and testing end-to-end call flow with simulation of multiple scenarios and validated 4G/5G use cases for functional, performance and failover testing with Core NFs and 4G Core and onboarded test cases in qTest.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering or related field plus two (2) years of experience in a software engineer or related occupation. Alternatively, a Masters degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering or related field.
Experience must include:
Network Architecture and Delivery including designing, implementing, and delivering telecommunications (Telco) solutions to the market; Telecom architecture including 4G/5G deployment models, Telcom network elements, and Core Network related signal flows according to 3GPP; Network and Routing concepts; Operations Support System (OSS) and Business Support System (BSS); platform models including Network functions virtualization (NFV) and cloud-native architecture; Deploying Telco solutions under various architectures, including OpenStack and VMware; and Utilizing packet analysis tools, including Wireshark for testing and signal analysis.
