Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a company focused on secure government IT infrastructure and virtual desktop (VDI) environments supporting mission-critical defense operations. This position is on-site in Newington, VA . The Systems Engineer will design, implement, and maintain scalable VDI architectures to support secure, high-performance user environments. Join a program directly impacting national security by delivering reliable and secure virtual desktop solutions to critical missions. Responsibilities for the Systems Engineer include: Design and define system architecture for VDI environments hosted on vSphere Collaborate across technical teams to troubleshoot challenges and drive mission outcomes Manage and optimize thin client environments using endpoint management tools (e.g., Wyse Management) Implement and maintain VDI monitoring, performance tuning, and automation solutions Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and apply best practices for secure system configurations Required Qualifications for the Systems Engineer include: 8+ years of experience with VDI technologies, specifically Omnissa Horizon hosted on vSphere Experience with thin client management tools, VDI monitoring solutions (Liquidware, Stratusphere), and profile management Strong scripting skills (PowerShell) and experience with image-as-code tools (HashiCorp, Packer) Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Active TS/SCI clearance and Security+ certification required Compensation for the Systems Engineer include:
