Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a TS Cleared CANES Systems Engineer to support a high-visibility Navy modernization effort with one of our defense industry partners. This individual will join a fast-paced pilot program focused on improving and automating the deployment, integration, and long-term sustainment of Agile Core Services (ACS) and OpenShift environments within the Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) ecosystem. This position is ideal for an engineer who can operate independently, solve complex technical challenges, and confidently contribute in highly technical discussions with minimal oversight. The team is looking for someone who can "hit the ground running" and help drive the success of a pilot program supporting deployments across multiple Navy platforms. The preferred location is Norfolk, VA, though candidates located in Charleston, SC or San Diego, CA will also be considered. Remote candidates may be eligible but should expect significantly increased travel. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design, develop, and support solutions integrating OpenShift clusters with CANES network, identity, and PKI services Build and maintain Ansible automation content to streamline deployment and integration activities Analyze existing technical environments and identify opportunities for improvement and risk reduction Troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure and application deployments Support installation, configuration, and testing efforts aboard Navy platforms Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and engineering artifacts Participate in daily standups, technical reviews, and collaborative engineering efforts Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to current environments Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance when needed We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Active Top Secret Security Clearance 5+ years of experience supporting Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, administration, or technical support 2+ years of experience with: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Rocky Linux, or CentOS Ansible Automation Platform Experience troubleshooting and implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work aboard waterfront platforms in varying environmental conditions Red Hat OpenShift experience Experience integrating systems with PKI and identity services Experience supporting Navy tactical or afloat networks Technical documentation and architecture experience Prior experience installing or supporting systems aboard ships or waterfront facilities
