Job Description
Job Summary The Cloud AWS Engineer - III will serve as a hands-on technical engineering leader responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and optimization of strategic cloud and infrastructure initiatives. This role focuses on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud-native engineering, DevOps practices, and enterprise infrastructure modernization across large-scale hosting and distributed environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, enterprise networking, security architectures, and technical leadership within Agile and product-focused environments. Key Responsibilities Serve as a hands-on technical engineer supporting the development and implementation of strategic cloud and infrastructure initiatives. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to support cloud deployments, automation, and proof-of-concept initiatives. Review infrastructure code developed by engineering teams to ensure alignment with security standards, engineering best practices, and business objectives. Provide technical leadership and prioritization support to Agile product and scrum teams in collaboration with Product Owners. Validate that infrastructure solutions and platform features meet business, security, and operational requirements. Lead architectural and engineering discussions for technical, operational, business, and management stakeholders. Partner with application and client engagement teams to support integration with enterprise platform offerings. Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and business teams to identify architectural gaps, infrastructure deficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Analyze, maintain, and update system architecture and technical documentation as required. Assess operational risks, authorize risk-level changes, and recommend solutions to minimize service disruptions. Evaluate, recommend, and support adoption of new cloud services, infrastructure technologies, software, and hardware solutions. Ensure adherence to enterprise technical standards, engineering processes, and security procedures. Mentor technical staff and support knowledge-sharing initiatives related to infrastructure tools, cloud platforms, and engineering best practices. Monitor operational compliance with internal infrastructure and security standards. Support troubleshooting, operational support, and performance optimization activities across distributed environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 3+ years of experience for Senior-level roles or 6+ years of experience for Advanced-level roles supporting large-scale technical delivery initiatives. Experience collaborating with business, development, and infrastructure stakeholders across enterprise projects. Minimum of 2+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies and concepts including virtualization, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code. Associate-level cloud certification in AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent practical experience. Hands-on experience implementing DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code solutions. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. Strong strategic thinking and technical analysis capabilities. Experience working within large-scale infrastructure hosting environments. Understanding of distributed messaging architectures, application hosting environments, and enterprise networking technologies including VPNs, TCP/IP, firewalls, and routing. Knowledge of enterprise security technologies including authentication, authorization, public key infrastructure, and encryption concepts. Strong understanding of how infrastructure components integrate to support enterprise platforms and services. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting cloud-native modernization and platform engineering initiatives. Familiarity with container orchestration platforms and distributed systems architectures. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, and cloud governance practices. Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, and risk management frameworks. Experience mentoring engineering teams and leading technical design discussions.
