Junior Systems Engineer - Web Applications (Active Secret Clearance Required)

Active DoD Secret (Required) Role Overview We are seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support and troubleshoot mission‑critical web applications in a secure, government environment. This role is ideal for an early‑career engineer who is eager to learn, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to be challenged in a collaborative, fast‑paced technical setting. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to support production web applications, investigate application issues, assist with root‑cause analysis, and help automate solutions that improve system reliability and performance. This is not a hardware or lab-based role —the focus is on software, automation, and application-level troubleshooting . An active Secret clearance is required to support classified systems. Key Responsibilities Support and troubleshoot production web applications in a secure environment Assist with incident response , issue triage, and root‑cause analysis Analyze logs, metrics, and application behavior to identify and resolve issues Use Python-based scripting and Ansible automation to reduce manual effort and improve system stability Collaborate with software, platform, and systems engineers to implement fixes and enhancements Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to reliability, performance, and automation Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and lessons learned Required Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) 1-3 years of experience in a software, systems, or application support role Experience troubleshooting web applications or software-based systems Hands-on experience with Python (scripting or development) Exposure to Ansible or similar automation/configuration tools Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to work in a classified environment and follow security requirements #LD-KD1 Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tysons Corner, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $114400.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
