Overview VTG is seeking a Systems Engineer responsible for supporting and maintaining application infrastructure across multiple network environments. This position will focus on systems administration, application infrastructure, security compliance, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. What will you do? Design, install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Support application infrastructure across multiple network environments.
Provide technical support to ensure applications and supporting infrastructure meet security and compliance requirements.
Implement required technical standards and technical precepts across supported environments.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and automated testing capabilities.
Administer and support Linux/Unix environments.
Develop scripts using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages to automate system administration and operational tasks.
Utilize Jenkins and Git to support software integration, deployment, and configuration management activities.
Proactively monitor system health and performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve availability and reliability.
Implement and maintain system security measures, backup strategies, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving hardware, software, applications, and network components.
Collaborate with developers, management, and other technical teams to understand requirements and implement technical solutions.
Develop and maintain documentation covering system architecture, configurations, procedures, and operational support.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential system upgrades and new implementations.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support mission-critical systems. Do you have what it takes? Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
2+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, Testing, DevOps, or a related technical role.
Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with automated testing tools.
Strong working knowledge of Jenkins.
Strong experience with Linux/Unix environments.
Experience with Git/version control.
Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Ability to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
