Systems Engineer 5: 147791
Job Description:
Supports flight deck crew operations for communication, navigation, and surveillance systems across commercial airplane programs, focusing on enhancing runway safety initiatives. This role develops functional requirements, defines concepts of operations, performs functional hazard assessments, and plans and analyzes pilot evaluations while collaborating with pilots, regulators, and suppliers. The engineer leads system-of-systems design, integration, and analysis activities to ensure performance, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership are required to manage system architecture, requirements processes, and overall program success.

              • Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years of experience, Master's degree with 12 or more years of experience, or PhD with 9 or more years of experience.

              • Support projects to enhance runway safety for operators.
              • Write functional requirements and define concepts of operations.
              • Perform functional hazard assessments.
              • Plan pilot evaluations and analyze resulting data.
              • Collaborate with avionics counterparts to advance technology toward implementation.
              • Lead activities to plan, design, develop, and verify complex system-of-systems solutions.
              • Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements.
              • Integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility of system interfaces.
              • Lead analyses to optimize system architecture and configuration.
              • Ensure system performance across safety, reliability, maintainability, and regulatory requirements.
