Cloud Engineering Manager Description

Job Summary This role is responsible for leading the team of system software engineers for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software development tools on a cross-organization Internal Developer Platform. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful deployment and operation of software solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements. The role defines and executes the overall software systems strategy, setting technical goals, priorities, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and managing a set of Software Development Lifecycle tools Coordinates projects for systems software, compliance management, patch management, as well as strategy for Platform Software Supply Chain. Develops and executes testing strategies to validate software system functionality, performance, and security. Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps. Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners. Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources. Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development. Ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance software systems. Education & Experience Recommended Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming language, or a related field. Preferred Certifications Certified Software Systems Engineer (CSSE) Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Knowledge & Skills Agile Methodology Amazon Web Services (IAM, networking, compute, etc) Application Programming Interface (API) Automation Experience with software development version control tools like TeamForge Sonarqube, Nexus, Harbor Git org/repo management, permissions and enterprise features Terraform (or equivalent IaC tools) Computer Science Debugging Docker (Software) Go (Programming Language) Kubernetes Linux Microservices Microsoft Azure Python (Programming Language) Scalability Software Development Lifecycle Software Engineering SQL (Programming Language) SOX/SOC compliance frameworks The pay range for this role is $130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
