Milwaukee, Wisconsin Windows Engineer Added 8 hours ago Windows Engineer Chicago / Milwaukee | Contract | $50/hour W2 + Travel Expenses Epic Placements is partnering with Synoptek , a leading technology consulting and managed services organization, on an immediate need for a hands-on Windows Engineer supporting a client environment across the Chicago and Milwaukee markets. This is a great fit for a Tier 2 / mid-level Windows Engineer who enjoys solving problems, can jump into a new environment quickly, and is comfortable working directly with customers. What You'll Be Doing Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Windows and infrastructure issues Support Windows Server and desktop environments Work with Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and related Microsoft technologies Assist with deployments, upgrades, migrations, and general infrastructure projects Troubleshoot networking, permissions, authentication, and connectivity issues Document work clearly and communicate directly with technical teams and customers What We're Looking For Strong hands-on Windows administration and troubleshooting experience Experience beyond traditional Tier 1/help desk support Solid Active Directory and Microsoft ecosystem knowledge Ability to independently troubleshoot and own technical issues through resolution Strong communication and customer-facing skills MSP, consulting, or multi-client experience is a strong plus PowerShell, Azure/Entra ID, VMware, or Hyper-V experience is a plus
