LP Job Summary:
Senior Cyber Security Threat Analyst/Specialist responsible for 24x7 SOC monitoring, threat detection, investigation, threat hunting, malware/phishing analysis, and incident escalation. The role requires strong technical security skills, curiosity, tenacity, and the ability to collaborate with multiple technical teams in a hybrid onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor daily cybersecurity activity and determine whether events are malicious or benign. Investigate security events, malware, phishing cases, and potential compromises/breaches. Perform threat hunting using threat intelligence, utility-industry intelligence, and other intelligence sources. Conduct forensic analysis using security monitoring and investigation tools to identify sources of anomalous activity. Escalate confirmed or suspected threats to Incident Response teams as appropriate. Perform internal and external cybersecurity research to support investigations.
Must Have Skills:
Hands-on SOC / Security Operations experience. Experience with cybersecurity monitoring, threat detection, and security event analysis. Strong threat hunting and threat intelligence experience. Experience analyzing malware, phishing, suspicious activity, and potential compromises. Proficiency with security monitoring, forensic, and threat-analysis tools. Ability to distinguish malicious vs. benign security activity and appropriately escalate incidents. Experience with security tool administration, customization, or integration.
